Last week, I did a NAMI NYC Metro In Our Own Voice presentation virtually at Emblem Health, New York and Connecticut. It was a blessing to share my story of recovery and coping strategies with people focused on their mental health and wellness. I also did a NAMI NYC Metro IOOV Training Virtually. I was one of two trainers plus coordinator for NAMI NYC Metro's In Our Own Voice Virtual Training. This was the first Virtual In Our Own Voice training done in New York State. The 7 presenters were phenomenal and uplifting. It was a good training and we had great conversations about mental health issues. It was a blessed time. A great way to end the month.Above is a picture of the virtual training. As a person successfully in recovery from bipolar disorder type1, I am passionate about mental health.
Being in a position to train others on how to share their own story is a gift from God that I treasure. Right now I am thinking about the seeds I have sown since 2008 for reducing the stigma of mental illness, and showing hope for recovery and success after being diagnosed with a mental illness. Doing presentations for NAMI NYC Metro, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, I love doing this volunteer work. It is near and dear to my heart because I am a person who has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder who is in recovery. To go out to different places telling my story as part of NAMI's In Our Own Voice Program, feels my heart with joy. I always say if I can reach one person then it's a job well done. I know at the end of a presentation, I feel that I have reached more than one person from the response of the audience and feedback from the coordinators of the presentation. To receive emails saying that I encouraged somebody just makes me want to do more and more presentations. I encourage you to find a charity that you are interested in and volunteer so that you can feel what I feel.
Volunteer with a school, church, charity, organization or hospital to help others. By volunteering you are giving back to your community and to the world by making things better. Volunteers often help others deal with problems they have conquered and/ or recovered from. Volunteering will allow you to support causes that you believe in and are passionate about. Volunteering will help you bring hope to others. Volunteering is one situation where you are giving but also receiving as well. When you help others through volunteering, it helps you feel empowered and good. Therefore you receive just as much as you give. Volunteering is a blessing and something I highly recommend. You'll be glad that you did. Please watch my NAMI NYC Metro IOOV presentation, a testimony of triumph over adversity below.I pray that this information helps you along your spiritual journey. Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness, kindness and support by watching the information that I have shared. God bless your precious heart for your support.Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness and support of me, my family, my bff and Unlimited Help Online Ministry. I pray that God blesses you with the desires of your heart and I hope that you are having a good Day and that God blesses you with a phenomenal rest of the week filled with God's grace, mercy, favor, good health, prosperity and peace of mind in the name of Jesus Christ according to Luke 1:37"for with God nothing shall be impossible!!!" Amen
