Because at the end of the day, you are your worst enemy! Only you are keeping yourself from doing the right things and taking the best care of yourself. YOU. There is no one else to blame for you not doing right by you. So take care of yourself best by doing right by you. By right I mean eating good food (e.g. vegetables, fruit and lean cuts of meat) and by taking the time to exercise your body as well as dress appropriately. From now on, view your body as the temple of God. Treat your temple with respect. As a child of God, we are called to act with respect when we eat and drink with portion control. Eating within moderation and small portions. Refraining for overeating. Have Boundaries!! Eat to live not live to eat!
Next, get into an exercise schedule and stick to it. If you develop this habit, you will be in good physical shape for the rest of your life. By implementing the right food and exercise habits you will be better equipped to lead the best life possible.
From now on, everyday realize that being the best you possible requires that you eat right, exercise, dress appropriately and take care of yourself so that you are healthy. Does it take extra effort to eat right, exercise, dress appropriately and take care of yourself? YES. It is not easy. It is time consuming. It requires you learning and adopting new eating habits and a exercise routine. It also means you making time for you. By focusing on making you the best you possible you will be enhancing the quality of your life and you are worth the extra effort.
Often you put yourself last and everything and everyone first. The new healthy lifestyle requires you put yourself first and making sure you are healthy and whole before focusing on anyone else. The thought being that if you are healthy, you will be better equipped to handle other people and situations. But first you must take care of yourself. Remember you can not give love if you are not first loving yourself. By loving and liking yourself and implementing self-care you are stopping the cycle of self-abuse and are implementing a healthy lifestyle, setting a good standard for yourself. By doing so, at the end of your day, you are liking and loving yourself and you are worth every bit of time and attention you spend on yourself. So make it a priority everyday to love and like yourself, and to treat your body like the temple of God that it is. You'll be glad that you did.
If ANYBODY knows what you are going through when it comes to weight loss it is me because I went through the same thing. At the end of the day, it was me vs me. The diets. Gaining weight. Losing weight to gain all the weight back again and then to lose it all again ONLY to gain it back once again. The yo-yo syndrome. When I stopped acting like a yo-yo was when I made up my mind to be healthy for the rest of my life. I realized that at the end of the day, it was me versus me. No one else was holding me back from my highest good. Only me. So I got out of my own way and implemented the a healthy lifestyle. At first, doing all the right things meant that I only lost inches, not pounds. That went on for months. So don't let that discourage you. Inches equals weight loss. So measure yourself. Measure your arms, legs, hips, stomach. And keep measuring yourself. Over time you will see the inches get smaller and smaller. And your clothes size getting smaller and smaller. And eventually the pounds will come off too!!! The key is to keep track and to keep measuring yourself to see your progress.
The bottom line is you are worth having a healthy lifestyle. Begin today to implement one in your life. You'll be glad that you did.
Until next time, take care of yourself and stay special!!!
