Miguel and I were trained together to be trainers in St. Louis in 2010. They say it takes teamwork to make the dream work, well it certainly was the combination of Miguel Anderson,Karin Broberg and Barbara Duenas to have certified all 7 trainees who came and did a phenomenal job becoming presenters for IOOV presentations. I am soooooo proud of each of them. It was a blessed day. Here's a picture of the class missing Barbara who was taking the picture. Right now I am thinking about the seeds I have sown since 2008 for reducing the stigma of mental illness, and showing hope for recovery and success after being diagnosed with a mental illness.
Doing presentations, training and teaching for NAMI NYC Metro, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, I love doing this volunteer work. It is near and dear to my heart because I am a person who has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder who is in recovery. To go to different places telling my story as part of NAMI's In Our Own Voice Program, Ending The Silence, Hope For Recovery, and Peer to Peer Recovery Education Class feels my heart with joy. I always say if I can reach one person then it's a job well done. I know at the end of an encounter, I feel that I have reached more than one person from the response and feedback from the coordinator. To receive emails saying that I encouraged somebody just makes me want to do more and more. I encourage you to find a charity that you are interested in and volunteer so that you can feel what I feel.Volunteer with a school, church, charity, organization or hospital to help others. By volunteering you are giving back to your community and to the world by making things better. Volunteers often help others deal with problems they have conquered and/ or recovered from. Volunteering will allow you to support causes that you believe in and are passionate about. Volunteering will help you, help yourself! #HelloBeautiful!!! Happy Resurrection Sunday!!! Praise God for Jesus Christ Overcoming satan and death. To reign victoriously with our Heavenly Father so that you and I could have a personal relationship with God. Thank God for Jesus Christ and his favor, mercy, grace and peace of mind. That's why you have to trust in your heart mind body and soul that God just will make a way out of no way for you. Regardless of your circumstances, at all times, God is in control. Stop for a minute and let that marinate in your mind. God your Heavenly Father is in control and he has you in the palm of his hands. At all times he is caring and loving you and working things out for your higher good so relax. He is opening doors that are closed to others for you. He is giving you favor with those in positions of power, he is blessing your home and children, basically he is taking care of all your needs and wants. Psalms 23:1 says the Lord is my shepherd I shall not want. What this means is that all your needs are taking care of and your wants too if Jesus Christ is your Lord and Savior. So you can rest and breathe easier knowing God is making ways for you when you can’t see away. That is why he is God. He can make the supernatural occur. And basically that’s what he wants to do. He wants for you to praise him for delivering you out of your circumstances. He wants you to come to him and thank him for what he has done. So continue to believe in God for deliverance to a highest level in every area of your life and for a deliverance from any problem that you may be facing. And when you seek his face, ask him once for help and just praise him talk to him about what else is going on in your life. Listen for what the Holy Spirit wants you to know. Read your Bible for divine revelation and you will be enlightened. God will bless you. Continue to seek God’s face. Never stop believing and having hope that God will make a way out of no way because he will. He will deliver you!!! Praise God!!! God is good. So also focus on your relationship with God. He is your greatest asset. Are you taking time to talk to God? Does God know what's on your mind and in your heart? If not, get about speaking to our Heavenly Father about your cares and he will take care of each and every one of them if you leave them in his capable hands.You are precious, special and beautiful. How are you doing? I hope great. Because if not, then I want you to check to make sure that you are walking in alignment with God's will for your life. How do you do this? By reading and following the ten commandments God gave us in the Bible and following the directives Jesus gave us while on Earth. It is always good to refresh yourself on exactly what you are suppose to be doing so that all can be going well for you. God said in Exodus 20: 1-19 New International Version (NIV): The Ten Commandments 1 And God spoke all these words: 2 “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. 3 “You shall have no other gods before[a] me. 4 “You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. 5 You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, 6 but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments. 7 “You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God, for the Lord will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name. 8 “Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God. Hello Beautiful!!! Without dreams and vision, you will perish. I have always dreamt dreams. Prayed for things and events to happen. I tried to believe with all of my heart that they would come true. Doing this got me through a rough childhood and tumultuous teenage years. When I got older, I realized that for me, it was easier to dream and believe if I wrote down what I wanted and put it on a vision board along with pictures and scripture to stand on making what others call “a vision board” it was easier to dream. Well I don't exactly have a vision board, I have a vision wall. In my bedroom, I have the dreams I pray to come true along with scripture and pictures posted up on the wall next to my bed. Before I go to sleep, I look at them and when I wake up I stare at them to see them as my reality. And I do what I have to do to move myself forward to accomplish them. I also have a vision table where I have translated these dreams into 3d models using toys from my childhood and other items. In 2005, I put up this table. I had a house with a family, a Cornell baby outfit, a book my favorite ex-boyfriend, Warren Benjamin gave me because it gave me hope to be loved like that again and a cat and a dog. I also had my bible open to my favorite scripture on the table, Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Jesus Christ who strengthens me” And after I put it together, I felt like I was seeing clearly my future. That it would come to light one day for me. That was 2005. In 2010, my husband, Warren Benjamin contacted me over facebook and we reunited and got married! Wow! In 2005 when I had put his book on the table, I never thought I would see him again, it just represented pure love for me. For him to come into my life and then for us to be married, I know it was the hand of God. And my vision wall has been replaced because what I had put up in 2005 every single thought, idea, wish, and need had come to pass by 2011. So I took it all down and lovingly put it aside in my treasure box to remember where I came from and put up new goals for me and my family. I write this to say that there is power in prayer, along with envisioning and mapping out in one, two and three dimensional ways your hopes, dreams and prayers. You will be amazed when you look back and see that what you asked for will have come to life. There is scriptural basis for doing this. In Habakkuk 2:2 “The Lord replied “write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it. For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it, it will certainly come and will not delay.” This biblical principle of writing down your goals, and believing that they are true, have a designated time and will happen is a truth that is real. If you don't have dreams, visions and goals that you can lay ahold of, you will perish. You will feel a lack of purpose and be unsure of your next move. With goals, dreams and visions which are visible, written, and prayed for and believed in you feel a sense of peace, purpose and like you know where you are headed. So I encourage you today as we get ready to finish the fourth quarter of the year to write down your dreams, goals and visions. Paste them on a wall where you can see it or a book or in your phone where you can carry it with you. If you need the extra like I did, there is no shame in the game to make a 3d mock up table of what you want. The more real it is to you, the more real it becomes for you. You were created by God. And that YOU ARE LOVABLE and GOD LOVES YOU! How do I know this? I know this because of what it says in Psalms 139:13-16. According to Psalms 139:13-16”For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful,I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.” If God loving put you together, you know that you are not a mistake, you were made on purpose. God created you so that your body could be the temple of God.You are special. Special enough to be formed by God himself. Therefore you are lovable and God loves you.Your body is the temple of God. Did you know your body is the temple of God? According to I Corinthians 6:19-20: “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.” Your body is the first gift God gave you. How are you treating your body? Are you honoring and taking care of it like the precious gift God has given you? Are you giving your body the proper nutrients, exercise and rest it requires? Are you taking care of your body the best way possible? Church. We treat the physical building of church how we should treat our bodies. We respect, honor and clean our churches to make sure it is an excellent representation of God when in fact our bodies are the temple of God. You would never think to fill up a church with junk and debris yet we constantly put junk and garbage in our bodies! As Romans 12:1 says "Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship." I urge you today to begin to honor your body, the temple of God, by treating it right. By right I mean eating good food (e.g. vegetables, fruit and lean cuts of meat) and by taking the time to exercise your body as well as dress appropriately. While here on Earth, you represent God and are ambassador of God. I encourage you to be the best representation of God on the planet!!
I pray that this week you reflect on the Ministry of Jesus Christ. You never know where your blessing may be coming from because God can work through anyone, including your enemy, to make sure you are blessed. Your blessing has a designated appointment in time to meet you. It will surely come to pass. Remember also what Jesus Christ said while here on Earth: be shrewd in how you handle worldly things so you can be trusted with Heavenly things. We don't know when we will have to give account for how we handled our earthly possessions. So be shrewd. What does shrewd mean? Having or showing sharp powers of judgment; astute. For example:"she was shrewd enough to guess the motive behind his lie. Heavenly Father,thank you for watching over and providing for the special person reading this message.Father please continue to bless them with more love, joy, peace, happiness, good health, prosperity and rest. Please bless them with more of your favor,mercy and grace. Father help them to be shrewd in their Earthly affairs. Father thank you in advance for answering this short prayer. In the name of Jesus Christ I pray, Amen! Thank God that you are alive and healthy!!!Thank God for your sanity and being in the right frame of mind!!! Stress is not your friend!!! As much as you can, try to reduce the amount of stress in your life so that you can remain sane and mentally healthy. Here are 5 ways I recommend to reduce stress: 1. Pray 2. Say No to projects that will compromise your mental well-being 3. Allow extra time to get to places and to do things. 4. Create a budget and live within your budget. 5. Having problems?
