• How do you get to know God? Jesus? Read the Bible. When reading the Bible where do you begin? At the beginning. Turn to the first book of the Bible, Genesis. How did the whole thing called mankind begin and what was your purpose? You’ll learn that mankind began by God breathing into dust and creating you in his image so that you can have a relationship with him. Even though at the time, God had the Angels, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, he yearned to be loved and fellowship with you and the rest of mankind. Do you understand how much it means when the creator of all things has everything and he creates mankind because he is yearning for us? You are so very vital and important to God. YOU. YOU matter to our heavenly father. He couldn’t live without you and be happy. He needed you to exist to feel fulfilled. When you realize that by creating mankind God was making himself feel fulfilled and that we are the last thing he created so we are his best we are incredible. YOU are incredible. God took time to form man. Man is very complex in mind, body and spirit. An infinite being (spirit), housed in a body. Our whole concept is mind boggling. We can think something and achieve it. Our thoughts carry out physical weight behind them. We are creators. So in the beginning God wanted to see what his mini mes would do. We are created in his image. He gave us the world to manage through the Garden of Eden and told us to go out and multiply and subdue the Earth “In other words be productive. I created you, let me see the star spangled banner things I know you can do. I want to talk to you about what you think about what you do and where you want to go. I want a relationship with you...” is what God is saying. This is what was there in the beginning. And now today, God wants the same thing. Your heavenly father wants you to cry out to him “Daddy do you see what is going on? Can we talk? I need you! Help me!” God our heavenly father cares about you and wants you to be deeply involved in your life. By having a relationship with him you can weather any storm you face easier and with the knowledge that you will come out on the other side of what you face victorious because God is in control and watching over you. 
• How do you develop a relationship with God? You just start talking to him. When you are not in trouble. Set aside thirty minutes a day to read your Bible and spend quiet time talking and praying to God and listening for his response to your prayers either through inclinations in your spirit or revelation in his word the Bible. People think God won’t talk to you. But God clearly will let you know which way to go when you seek out his face. You get it in your spirit through the Holy Spirit or you open up your Bible and it speaks right to what you are going through. Speaking to God isn’t about repeating the same thing over and over. God isn’t stupid. You should talk about what is going on with you. Your hopes and dreams and if you have nothing new then just praise him. Part of your time spent with God should be spent praising him anyway. Praise him for the blessings in your life. Praise him for your life. Praise him for waking up. Your home. Your job. Your breathing. There is so much to be grateful for. Thank God for the big and small things. That’s how you develop a relationship and keep it going. The most important asset in your life is your relationship with God. Nothing in this world matters nothing else defines who you are or what you will become. Why? Outside of God what do you have? People, titles, accomplishments, can’t make you feel good on the inside. They can’t give you joy, love, peace and happiness. And that doesn’t change as you get older. Please depend on God. In the Bible, it tells us not to form and idol and worship anything but God. The one sin that is the worst sin of them all is having another God be greater than God to you. So by reading the Bible, taking time out each day to pray to God, talk to God,  share your life with him, and thank him for all his blessings he has bestowed upon your life, this is how you will come to know him intimately.

Truth # 105

Did you know you are a grown folk?  There comes a time when you realize you are a “grown folk.” What is that? Someone who is an adult, responsible for your own life, for your own actions, for your circumstances, and the situations you find yourself in. As a grown folk, you can’t blame your problems on society, your community or your parental upbringing. You have had enough time on the planet to have put two and two together for yourself now and make decisions on your own merit. As a grown folk, no one wants to hear excuses from you. No one wants to hear why you don’t recognize for yourself that you are grown. So I am writing this to say wake up! Regardless of what state you find yourself in, sane or insane, people  hold you accountable for your decisions and actions. And that’s just it. You don’t get a break. Whether you are sick or well, happy or sad, broke or well off, you are a grown folk.  Stop making the same decisions that lead to no where.  Stop doing things the same way you have always done them that get you the same tired unhappy results.  Stop abusing your body, the temple of God.  Stop being late.  Stop lying to yourself and others about your reality. WAKE UP!  Wake up and take responsibility for yourself.  Be clean, disciplined and orderly.  Take care of the gifts, talents and body that God gave you before you lose what you have because you see, it is biblical principle, you will lose it if you don’t use it.  Start appreciating the fact that right, wrong or indifferent, you are the sum total of ALL the choices and decisions you have made from birth to now. The choices that YOU made. Not anyone else.  And since you are the sum total of all those decisions, you get to decide where you are going next.  So take some time out today. Get a pen and paper and map out the next five years.  I want you to make some bodacious goals and claims for your life.  Dream a big and wonderful life.  Stretch yourself so that you give yourself something to look forward to.  Design a goal for every area of your life.  And then tomorrow, get on the path to obtaining what you have mapped out for you.  Now you are living with focus, not merely existing.  And you are designing a wonderful time and space for you.  Enjoy the ride fellow grown folk. The best time of your life is yet to come!

This is the prophetic word that I have received from God for 2012: "Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and everything will be added unto you, whatever you ask of me in the name of my son, Jesus, I will grant unto you. But don't be double minded, with waivering faith. Have faith like unto a child, and be not moved by what you see happening with others. For what I have planned for you is beyond the comprehension of those around you. Men see with their carnal mind. Look with your spiritual vision so that you can stretch forth your faith to receive all that I have planned for you. Now is the appointed time, the designated day and hour where your dreams will be fulfilled. My words will not return to me void. I will honor my servant's faithfulness in delivering my word unto you. For anyone reading, if you were never taught how to love, you can learn to love yourself by first realizing this truth: YOU ARE LOVABLE and GOD LOVES YOU! These are two facts. How do you know this? In Psalms 139 it says "for you created my most inmost being: you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful. I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth your eyes saw my unformed body." Earlier in Psalms 139 it says "Where can I go from your spirit? Where can I flee from your presence?...even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast."


If God loving put you together, you know that you are not a mistake, were made on purpose and have a purpose. That you are special. Special enough to be formed by God himself. Therefore you are lovable and God loves you. Second, you pick something about yourself that you like. It can be something small, but whatever it is, its yours. Love it. Loving it means taking care of it and nurturing it. And after you done that, pick something else about you and so on until you have done your whole body. Remember at all times you are special. Be gentle with yourself! 

I remember when I started the process of loving and liking me. The only thing that I could find about myself that I truly liked were my feet. So what did I do? I got some Victoria Secret Lotion Pear Glace. I would loving lotion my feet everyday. Then eventually my mother bought me a gold toe ring for one foot and I bought myself a gold toe ring for the other. My feet felt loved. I felt loved. Then I picked something else about myself I liked. My hands. I started to get manicures, and to keep my hands moisturized. My hands felt loved. I felt loved. I felt myself loving and liking me. Then I said to myself, this feels good. Let me do this to my whole body. And that's how I learned to love and like me. What works for you may be different. Maybe it its your eyes, or hair, your pretty smile, or ears. Whatever it is, start some where.

Just know this. Regardless of the lies you were told growing up or even are hearing now, you are very special and deserve to love and like yourself. You should be having a love affair with yourself because if no one else on the planet is showing you love, you are showing yourself love. In the bible it tells you tell to love your neighbor as you love yourself. Most people focus on the love thy neighbor part. The key to the scripture is love thyself. You cant give love if you don't know love. You can only give like. And there is a difference between liking and loving. Liking makes you loyal to something or someone and you are using your brain to process these emotions. Loving makes you feel with your heart, mind, body and spirit. It is unconditional, it goes the extra mile and takes you into the type of love that God feels for you.

Jesus asked us to dos one thing because he wanted us to feel what he felt for us. Jesus also loved himself. How do I know? In order to love us so well and unconditionally give of himself, he had to first love himself unconditionally. He could only give to us what he was able to give to himself. Do you want to see your life improve, relationships be better and you be happier? Make sure you are loving all of yourself as best you can. Well until I see your beautiful face, stay special!:)

Time is a prover of all things. In time, things will surely change. In time, you will see a person for who they truly are. Either they meant you harm or they were indeed your friend. Time reveals all things. Time is also the best friend to your prayer life. Because time shows you how God answers your prayers. Do you keep track of your prayer requests, and dreams and goals for your life? If you did this, over time, you would see what God has allowed to happen in your life and how quickly some things happen, while it takes time for other things to come to pass.

In 2005, I wrote down the deepest desires for my life and I asked God if what I wanted was in his will for it to come to pass.

By 2008 he had blessed me with the half the things on the list. I wanted to be a pastor, author, motivational speaker, publisher, singer, on television, and radio. I wanted to go to cultural events and to have a more interesting life. All these things had occurred by the end of that year in miraculous ways, by the grace of God.

In 2009, he blessed me with even more. And then I had a major setback. I got very sick mentally and was hospitalized. I hit rock bottom. During my time in this valley, I faced eviction, suicidal thoughts, rejection of peers, lost of employment. And time. I knew time would prove one thing, either my God would deliver me from the valley I found myself in or he wouldn't. And since he promised to never leave me nor forsake me, I knew that in time, he would restore what they say in the bible “the locusts had eaten away” (Joel 2:25-27). So I asked God to give me a humble and grateful heart and to never forget that in time, “he could do all things because nothing was impossible for him” (Luke 1:37).

Today, 2011, during Thanksgiving day I look at how far he has delivered me. And how time proved that God could, would and did deliver me. And I pulled out that list from 2005. The other half of the list God has given to me in the last two years, that being a deeper and more richer spiritual life with him, and to be married to a good christian man. Both things happened by the end of 2010.

And then he showed me in the last three weeks that he can move in an instant. I always prayed for him to protect my home. The apartment in the floor below mine caught on fire and totally was engulfed in flames. My neighbor lost everything and smoke flooded the apartment building. But praise God, my apartment did not catch on fire nor have fire damage. And we were evacuated from the building before we could have gotten sick from smoke inhalation. When I think on how each of us are living by the grace of God, I am humbled and grateful to God for his love and mercy.

I promised myself to never to forget how God has answered every one of my prayers either instantly or over time but always right on time.

I share all this with you to say that it is important to write down your prayer requests so you can know exactly when God answers your prayers and to remember and always be grateful for his blessings. And so that you can share with others your testimony like I have done in this article. Often people don't talk about their business or how they got to where they are today. They lead you to believe it was all roses. When they hit the wall you may be facing and it took time to get that mountain top. God told me in the beginning of my ministry to always, always turn back and say publicly what he has done for me. Because I am living proof if he can do it for me, he can do this and more for you. So be of good courage. Your hopes,dreams, prayers, all will be answered by God. In time.

I have always dreamt dreams. Prayed for things and events to happen. I tried to believe with all of my heart that they would come true. Doing this got me through a rough childhood and tumultuous teenage years. When I got older, I realized that for me, it was easier to dream and believe if I wrote down what I wanted and put it on a vision board along with pictures and scripture to stand on making what others call “a vision board” it was easier to dream. Well I don't exactly have a vision board, I have a vision wall. In my bedroom, I have the dreams I pray to come true along with scripture and pictures posted up on the wall next to my bed. Before I go to sleep, I look at them and when I wake up I stare at them to see them as my reality. And I do what I have to do to move myself forward to accomplish them.
 I also have a vision table where I have translated these dreams into 3d models using toys from my childhood and other items. In 2005, I put up this table. I had a house with a family, a Cornell baby outfit, a book my favorite ex-boyfriend, Warren Benjamin gave me because it gave me hope to be loved like that again and a cat and a dog. I also had my bible open to my favorite scripture on the table, Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Jesus Christ who strengthens me” And after I put it together, I felt like I was seeing clearly my future. That it would come to light one day for me.
 That was 2005. In 2010, my husband, Warren Benjamin contacted me over facebook and we reunited and got married! Wow! In 2005 when I had put his book on the table, I never thought I would see him again, it just represented pure love for me. For him to come into my life and then for us to be married, I know it was the hand of God. The family I envisioned is still unfolding. And my vision table is still here. Just updated. With all the items in place.
And my vision wall has been replaced because what I had put up in 2005, I looked at the other day. Every single thought, idea, wish, and need had come to pass by 2011. So I took it all down and lovingly put it aside in my treasure box to remember where I came from and put up new goals for me and my family.  I write this to say that there is power in prayer, along with envisioning and mapping out in one, two and three dimensional ways your hopes, dreams and prayers. You will be amazed when you look back and see that what you asked for will have come to life.
 There is scriptural basis for doing this. In Habakkuk 2:2 “The Lord replied “write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it. For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it, it will certainly come and will not delay.” This biblical principle of writing down your goals, and believing that they are true, have a designated time and will happen is a truth that is real.
If you don't have dreams, visions and goals that you can lay ahold of, you will perish. You will feel a lack of purpose and be unsure of your next move. With goals, dreams and visions which are visible, written, and prayed for and believed in you feel a sense of peace, purpose and like you know where you are headed.
 So I encourage you today as we enter the fourth quarter of the year to write down your dreams, goals and visions. Paste them on a wall where you can see it or a book where you can carry it with you. If you need the extra like I did, there is no shame in the game to make a 3d mock up table of what you want. The more real it is to you, the more real it becomes for you. Remember you are special and deserve to live out your dreams because you deserve this and more. Stay special!

Information Most Companies Wish You Didn't Know

I graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelors in Industrial and Labor Relations and Columbia University with a Masters in Organizational Psychology. I am a seasoned business woman with over twenty years Fortune 50 and non-profit human resources management and business consulting experience.
Companies wish you didn't know the following information about your job because it would give you a greater position of power, knowledge on how to keep your job and stand out from other employees. Here are answers to employment questions employees often have:

• How do you keep what you have? By being an invaluable asset to your company and someone who knows how to get along with others,knows their rights and makes wise decisions.
  
• How do you stand out from other employees? By becoming a go to person having listening,writing, and the latest computer skills.
  
• How do you become a “go to” person? You become a conduit of informal information about what is going on in the company for management (informal information about employees, problems, and clients). Also by being very efficient in completing and getting supplies needed for projects and employees obtained.
  
• What things should you do to prepare for performance evaluations? You should maintain documentation of your work performance:noting all deadlines, projects, and tasks you complete, days you take off, any complaints made and awards, compliments or acknowledgement you receive for good work done. At least two months before your performance evaluation, ask to review your employee file and modify any incorrect behavior noted in your employee file.
  
• What are the five things most people do everyday that give employers reasons to fire them? Use company property for their personal use (copiers,fax machines, computers, telephone), steal office supplies, participate in illegal activity on the job (e.g. sou sous, and network marketing schemes), come to work late, attend meetings late, and act insubordinate to their manager.
  
• How do you manage your employee file? Ask to see it, make rebuttals to memos,letters, and performance evaluations you don't agree with, and make copies of your documentation.
  
• If you are having problems on your job,with co-workers or your manager, how do you manage the situation?The three D's: Diffuse,Document, and Deal with the Difficult Person. Diffuse: You diffuse the situation by remaining calm in the midst of the conflict. If the person starts yelling at you, don't engage them by yelling back. Request that they stop, if they don't, walk away. If the behavior continues to happen, report the behavior to Human Resources. If a co-worker or manager hits you, don't hit them back. Walk away. Go to human resources and report the incident. Most company have policies in place that if both people engage in fighting they both will receive corrective action. Document: Document all incidents both in your employee file and in your own personal documentation at home. Deal with the difficult person by speaking to them in a direct manner and asking them to stop. If their behavior persists, arrange a meeting where you speak to them with a manager or human resources present and request that the behavior stop. If the behavior continues, you may request a transfer, report retaliation to human resources or look for another job.
  
• How do you keep your job if you become sick? If you have enough time on your job, go out on Short Term Disability or take a leave of absence through your company's Family Medical Leave
  
• The company just downsized and you have more work than before, how do you manage your new responsibilities? Get an increase in salary? Ask for a new title? Document everything you do starting at the beginning of the change in your job responsibilities. Send status reports to your manager via e-mail every week updating your manager of your projects, task, and days taken off. Ask for a salary/title review in six months in the beginning of the new work assignment. For the next six months, do a great job that leaves no question that you should receive the requested salary increase and job title adjustment.

In June of this year, I counseled someone about their career search. They had to find a job by the end of the summer the latest. I prayed with them and for them that God would provide them with the job of their dreams, making the salary they desired, within the time frame they needed (before September). Then I praised God and thanked him for the victory and let the person know that I truly believed God would do this for them. Knowing what was going on with the economy, the job market, the state, the government, I truly believe God is in control and able to provide for his children, regardless of the circumstances.

Two of the services I provide is doing resumes and coaching someone through their job search. I redid their resume and coached them through the employment process. And praise God, within six weeks, they received numerous job interviews for high paying jobs.

And after eight weeks of us working together, I am proud to say that God answered my prayers: they received a job offer for the salary they wanted with a sign on bonus. We started in June, they had a deadline of September, they received the offer in the beginning of August.

Why do I share this? Many of you are looking for jobs, or considering switching jobs in this economy and wondering can it happen for you? Yes. God can and will provide all of your needs. He is able to perform his greatest work yet in your life. Just pray, ask, thank and praise him and it all will come to pass. And if it can happen for my client I know it can happen for you.

One thing that I know to be true is that God answers prayers. And at all times I am praying for you. I have been praying for you since you joined this fan page that God bless you with more love, joy, happiness, peace of mind, prosperity and good health. And I know this one thing to be true, God hears the prayers of his righteous and answers them. So continue to have faith that in all that you ask, I stand in agreement with you already that your prayers will come to pass because I truly believe and know that God can and will do all things. Continue to have faith and you will see evidence of this in your life.
Remember you are incredible, wonderfully & divinely made and are very very special!
